What can you learn from a Caterpillar?
Jun 2, 2009 I think all of nature can be a shadow of greater spiritual realities we could never comprehend without its context. With that in mind, I submit a poem: Chrysalis She thinks only of herself.
What is a Kingdom Christian?
Jan 7, 2009 "Thy Kingdom Come, Thy Will be Done... on Earth as it is in Heaven." -Jesus I remember it well. I think of it almost every day. Sitting by the resort pool on a sweltering summer day outside of Phoenix; my wife to my left, my friends Gary and Emily to my right, and two new friends, a brother and sister from Guatemala across the small table from me all seated underneath the sail cloth... we spoke of the Kingdom.
Unashamed to be Pro-Life
Dec 13, 2008 I love babies. I always have. Even when I was a little kid I was drawn to the strange little creatures with big heads and tiny bodies. Every once in awhile I'd get lucky enough to hold one for a couple minutes, and smell that unique beautiful smell that only exists on the top of a baby's noggin. I always wanted to kiss their little cheeks, but of course, it's not very socially acceptable to kiss other people's babies unless you're a dirty politician for some reason.
Early Morning Thoughts...
Nov 4, 2007 What is man that you should be mindful of him? The genesis of something very different is looming just beyond the horizon. I look out my window and see the city lights twinkling. The early morning is thick with darkness. There’s a chill in the air and a quietness so thorough that each keystroke sounds like a jackhammer’s blow.
I Don't Know What I Am, Only Who I Am
Oct 1, 2007 Ever heard: "So what do you do for a living?" They're simple questions designed to quantify a human being into a 2-dimensional image, a blurb, a soundbyte. And you're ready for them aren't you? I bet you can answer such questions in 1-2 sentences with robot-like precision in your sleep, most people can. I can't.
My Wedding Vows
Apr 7, 2007 This is a day I've dreamt of for years. I've always loved you, even long before I knew your name. The night I met you my spirit leapt inside of me. I knew right away you were the one I had been waiting for.
My Wife's Wedding Vows
Apr 7, 2007 Here's Melissa's Vows to me: The first time I saw you I knew you were something totally different. That same night my spirit fell in love with you. It was as if it was reunited with a long lost friend. I was stunned by your glittering blue eyes and your mysterious sincerity. That night is so dear to my heart, because that night God gave me my husband. The scary thing was that I knew it was you that first night.
C.S. Lewis Quote
Jun 14, 2006 This quote just blew my mind and I thought I'd share it. "Christianity, if false, is of no importance, and if true, of infinite importance. The only thing it cannot be is moderately important." C.S Lewis
Here's to Another Year of Living
Jul 19, 2005 As the night draws to a close on my 22nd birthday's eve, I feel like writing a blog about nothing in particular, mainly because I haven't blogged in awhile. It's beginning summer monsoon season here in northern AZ, there were scattered thunderstorms today. After dinner and some prayer time with my friends phil and jess... the air finally smelled of rain. The wind chime on their porch announced the presence of the oncoming storms. The bells also chimed a starting point for my goal of the night.... find God and get wet in the process.
My Life in a Poem
Jun 9, 2005 It's EXTREMELY rare that I write poetry, but this just happened last night while I couldn't sleep from like midnight to 2AM. I'm not much of a poet, but at least you'll get to hear my life story from early childhood up to the end of high school. I'll have to do like a part two to cover the last 4 years I think. Here goes: |
